NIGHTSWIM //
Logo & Identity

CLIENT: NIGHTSWIM

PROJECT: Logo & Identity

DESIGN STUDIO: Pink Salt

ART DIRECTION: Esmeralda Vidfar

TALENT: Mane Tatoulian

YEAR: 2019

BRIEF:

Create a typographic logotype representative for Nightswim, an Italian production company set up in 2015 and run by Ines Vasiljevic, Stefano Sardo, Nicola Lusuardi and Roberto Amoroso. They produce movies and tv series by creating an environment in which we nurture creative talent, taking advantage of the members' lengthy professional experience in the conception, development and production of scripted entertainment.

The excitement that comes with working with entertainment should be reflected in the look and feel of our identity. There’s no business like show business!  The keywords are indie, daring, simple, evocative, dramatic & adventurous.

IDEA:

Minimal, clean and bold typography. The customised details emphasis the daring personality of the brand, and allow possible plays on the size and dimension of the letters for animation.

ABOUT MANE TATOULIAN:

Mane Tatoulian is an Armenian graphic designer, art director and writer. Her interests for arts and creativity began since childhood: she learned how to do more with less. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design with an Exceptional Diploma in History of Art, she collaborates with different companies all over the world to help them materialize their essence. Passionate about typography and inspired by Modernism, her work is clean, clear and universal. Atheist but emotional, she believes in everlastingness of things, that’s why she looks for timelessness in her creations. As designers, she thinks, we are like little Big Bangs bringing new shapes into this world. We have the power, the energy and the weapons to origin existence from our inner space. ‘We create the metamorphosis of concepts into material, and finally, we give them identity: we make them exist."

ABOUT ESMERALDA VIDFAR:

Esmeralda is a designer and product developer based on Planet Earth, Universe. Her main area of expertise is clothes but at night she has difficulties turning off the computer. Starting as a Barbie clothes designer and graphic novel writer at a very (very) early age she later moved on to Industrial Design. After grasping the idea of the design process and thanks to internet her vision and world grew. From Gothenburg to Milan, with a pitstop in Shanghai, working with fabric has always stayed in focus but visual expression and compositions is what nurture her creativity. Today she is the creative director of a Swedish fashion brand and freelance as designer and art director. She find inspiration in concepts, conversations, compositions of colours and shapes.
